About Us

ESI Technology LTD comprises of three brands;

ESI for pressure transducers and pressure transmitters
TSM for strain gauges, bonding services and glue kits
Sigtel for radio telemetry systems

Originally Ellison Sensors, ESI Technology manufactures and designs everything in the purpose built facility in Wrexham, UK. From this base, over three quarters of the products are exported around the globe to all the major industrialised countries. Since 2009 ESI Technology has been an independently run part of SUCO GmbH.

ESI Technology pressure transducers and pressure transmitters were originally designed for challenging aerospace and military applications. A variety of technologies have been used according to the application but nowadays the Silicon-on-Sapphire technology is the jewel in the crown. Silicon-on-Sapphire technology gives superior performance to older construction methods and combined with a titanium diaphragm and all titanium wetted parts provides excellent physical and chemical resistance. That is why some of the biggest manufacturers in the aerospace industry, defence industry, automotive and subsea oil and gas choose ESI Technology pressure sensors.

We believe that two- way communication between us and our customers is important. As designers and manufacturers for many years, we understand the products and help our customers to achieve the solutions they require. As both the products and the markets for them evolve we are always seeking new partners – distributors, system integrators and OEM.

Pressure Transducers Pressure measurement is often conducted in critical conditions. Replacement sensor cost is sometimes not as important as reliability. That is why ESI Technology pressure transducers and transmitters are pre-conditioned for their environment. Testing is an integral part of our manufacturing processes which is why you can rely on an ESI Technology pressure sensor.

Different industries have different quality standards. For example, for control valves in Subsea Control Modules ESI Technology provide hyperbaric test certificates (to 4000 metres) as standard. Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) is also offered.

For hazardous areas and intrinsically safe applications ESI Technology have a range of pressure sensors with ATEX and IECEx certification for Gas Atmospheres, Dust Atmospheres and Mining.

All products can be supplied with full documentation including certificates of conformity, calibration certificates, and material certificates etc. – all generated as a matter of course by our quality systems.

ESI Technology works closely with local business groups and academia, completing projects with Glyndŵr University.

Strain gauges, strain gauge bonding, strain gauge adhesives TSM strain gauges, bonding services and glue kits have been used in stress analysis and load cells for over 50 years. The strain gauge production is housed in state-of-the-art clean rooms and uses the latest photolithography processes and micromachining techniques. We are members of, and all work is done in accordance with The British Society for Strain Measurement (BSSM).

Our comprehensive facilities enable us to offer an entire range of services either in-house or on-site strain gauge bonding, even on intricate customer requirements such as specialist aerospace components. Our team of BSSM trained technicians work to the highest standards in accordance with our ISO9001:2008 quality system.

Choosing the correct adhesive to suit the application and environmental condition is very important. Many glues and epoxy resins are prone to creep, but TSM has developed a range of adhesives, coatings and accessories for trouble free preparation and bonding of precision strain gauges.

Telemetry systems Sigtel radio telemetry systems meet the modern need for wireless data transfer and have been doing so since 1986! Anything from an inaccessible few millimetres to over 20 kilometres of open space is possible. Using licence free, deregulated frequencies set up and use is made as simple as possible. Single point or multi-channel systems are available, off the shelf or custom designed.
